Olympic snowboarder, Alex Pullin, signs ambassadorship with Mazda
Alex ‘Chumpy’ Pullin, two-time World Champion and Australian Olympic Snowboarder, is in the middle of training for next year’s 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea. To help him with his journey, Mazda has signed ‘Chumpy’ on as a Mazda ambassador.
Pullin created history becoming Australia’s first Snowboard World Champion after taking out the Snowboard Cross event at the FIS World Titles in Spain in January 2011. That same year, he won the World Cup Championship having reached the podium in four of the previous five World Cup events of the season.
Alex will be driving around a top-of-the-range 2017 Mazda CX-5 Akera, using the best-selling SUV to go about his day and get to and from training.
“I’m stoked to be a part of the Mazda family. The CX-5 Akera is great to take to the snow filled with all my gear, and more importantly, it handles the conditions perfectly.
“When I’m not training, I throw my surfboard in the boot and head down the beach for a surf. The CX-5 is big enough to suit my lifestyle, yet small enough to cruise through the city in.
“I’m very much looking forward to working with the Mazda team.”
Before and after the 2018 Winter Olympics Alex will attend various Mazda events, particularly throughout the Australian snow season. He’ll also be frequently updating his social media with updates and snapshots of his journey to the 2018 Winter Olympics.
Mazda Australia marketing director, Alastair Doak, said:
“Alex is one of Australia’s great athletes, and we are proud to now have him as part of the Mazda family.
“Chumpy has a fantastic attitude to his career and is a very down to earth person, he is a great fit for the Next-Gen Mazda CX-5 and we look forward to working with him.”
