Car news Electric Hatch NISMO Nissan

2019 Nissan LEAF NISMO available in Japan from July 31

The Nissan LEAF NISMO will go on sale July 31 in Japan. This will be the first time that the LEAF – the world’s best-selling electric car – has been available as part of the NISMO road car series.

The LEAF NISMO will offer improved acceleration response thanks to a “custom tuning computer”, new custom tyres, and new sporty suspension for improved handling and ride comfort. This model is based on the second-generation Nissan LEAF, which became available to buyers around the world last October.

The new LEAF offers technologies such as e-Pedal and the ProPILOT and ProPILOT Park autonomous driving features, and was recently awarded 2018 World Green Car at the New York International Auto Show.

The LEAF NISMO’s exterior design features the characteristic “layered double wings” – which is said to improve downforce without compromising drag coefficient, custom 18-inch aluminum wheels, with no less than nine body colours available.

In terms of interior design the LEAF NISMO offers custom red accents, including the three-spoke steering wheel with a red centre mark, and a custom instrument panel that features a carbon-like finish.

Since NISMO launched its road car series with the Nissan Juke NISMO in 2013, it has since added the Nissan March NISMO, Nissan Note NISMO, Nissan 370Z NISMO, Nissan GT-R NISMO and Nissan Serena NISMO.
