All-new 2019 Ford Focus on sale in Australia this November

The all-new 2019 Ford Focus is set to go on sale in Australia this November, with both five-door hatch and wagon body styles available to buyers.

Three new models will be available, which include the Trend, ST-Line, and Titanium. The Trend hatch will feature 16-inch alloy wheels, front fog lamps, a new electronic park brake, an 8.0-inch touchscreen with SYNC 3, automatic headlights, and automatic windscreen wipers.

The ST-Line, available in Australia for the first time, gives buyers the option of either a hatch or wagon body style, and essentially replaces the Focus Sport. It comes with a unique honeycomb grille, side skirts, and rear bumper, as well as 17-inch alloy wheels. The ST-Line also includes a flat-bottom sports steering wheel with red stitching which extends to the gear-lever boot and ST-Line cloth trim, as well as wireless smartphone charging.

The top spec Titanium adds a whole lot of features, including a new LED lighting package which offers a broader beam for better vision at night, automatic high beam control, a segment first sequential turn-signal progression for the LED indicators, leather upholstery, and a 675-watt 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium audio system.

In terms of safety, standard equipment will include driver and passenger front airbags, side airbags, curtain airbags, as well as a segment-first rear wide-view camera, which offers a near-180 degree view to the rear of the vehicle for improved visibility when reversing from parking spaces or driveways.

Stepping up to the top spec Titanium adds autonomous emergency braking, which includes cyclist detection as well as night-time pedestrian detection, BLIS with rear cross traffic alert, stop and go adaptive cruise control with evasive steer assist, and lane-centering.

From launch, all 2019 Focus models will be powered exclusively by a new 1.5-litre turbocharged EcoBoost three-cylinder engine which will produce 134kW and 240Nm, and will be matched to an all-new torque converter eight-speed automatic.

Ford Australia, president and CEO, Kay Hart, said:

“The all-new Focus is a clean sheet design, offering customers the latest EcoBoost technology and adds a significant amount of new convenience and driver assistance features to the range.

“From Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian detection across the range to the new B&O Play audio system on Titanium, we are confident the expanded Focus line-up will have broad customer appeal.”

The 2019 Ford Focus will come with a five-year unlimited-kilometre warranty. The all-new Focus will be on sale in November 2018, with Australian pricing still yet to be announced. Stay tuned.
